Diamond Little People Academy serves 3 locations...
DLPA-Dimond (lic # 013422566) In-Home Daycare
Diamond Little People Academy - Dimond is a licensed in-home daycare that is located within the Dimond district of Oakland. What began in January 2016 as a husband and wife venture has now become a multisite passion project. With belief and dedication to the mission, the next step was to make this program accessible to more families.
DLPA-West (lic # 013423066) Christian-based Preschool
In March 2020, this location opened in West Oakland despite the adversity that the COVID pandemic presented the world. With our belief system already rooted in the Christian faith, it has been a long-standing goal to create a Christian-based preschool. The principles embraced by Jesus and taught in Christianity (love, forgiveness, selflessness, kindness, courage, and much more) promote an atmosphere we wish to create and support not just within our programs but our community as well.
Located just 6 blocks from the 12th St BART station and right off of Interstate 980, this much larger facility is licensed for 45 children.
DLPA-Oak Center (lic # 013422489) Infant Center
Seeing the need for serving even younger children led to a partnership with the Oak Center Cultural Center. Situated just across Lowell Park from DLPA-West, this DLPA managed program opened to serve this much needed age group in January of 2022. For children enrolled here and aging out and ready to transfer to our toddler program at DLPA-West, you will always have priority over new inquiring families.
Here are 2 DLPA associate programs...
The Boulevard Academies
Boulevard Little People Preschool Academy (BLPPA) lic # 013423124 and Boulevard Academy (BA) lic # 013423117
The inception of BLPA ushered the catalyst for the Little People Academy brand. What began in 1979 with Deltrina Johnson opening the Lake Merritt Little People family day care, has led to the formation of BLPA in 2008.
BA was another program created by Deltrina Johnson and her business partner and friend, Kassie Thomas. What initially began as a program with a focus on babies and toddlers has pivoted over time to an emphasis focusing on serving toddler age children. Both BLPA and BA focus on building a positive self-image for each child from toddler stage to school age. Their interpersonal home and school environment are directed toward a supportive and trustworthy setting that piques a child’s curiosity and provides them the opportunity to have a wide variety of experiences in a protective environment.
We do offer full-time and part-time child care options.
